# Engine Swap

Engine swaps let tuners physically replace a vehicle's engine — complete with a real hoist mechanic, not just a menu selection.

## Starting a Swap

Engine swap is available through the tuner shop's **Tuning Bay** menu. Available engines depend on the vehicle's class, each with its own price and a distinct engine sound once installed. Selecting an engine charges the shop account and begins the physical install task at the vehicle.

## The Physical Install

Engine swapping is a genuine multi-step process, not an instant menu action:

1. **Access the engine bay** — the hood opens and the bay is prepared for work.
2. **Bring the hoist** — a tuner engine hoist item is required. Use it to spawn a hoist near the vehicle.
3. **Extract the old engine** — attach the hoist to the vehicle's engine and lift it out. The extracted engine is discarded.
4. **Collect the new engine** — the new engine is delivered to your shop's delivery point (visible on the map). Use the hoist to pick it up and carry it back.
5. **Install the new engine** — attach the hoist to the vehicle again and lower the new engine into place.
6. **Complete the swap** — once installed, the hood closes and the vehicle's engine sound updates to match the new engine.

Throughout the process, precision markers guide you to the correct alignment points for the hoist, both when extracting and when installing.

## Delivery Points

Each tuner shop has its own delivery point where new engines are dropped off — this can be set up by the shop boss. Only one engine swap can use a shop's delivery point at a time; if another tuner is already mid-swap, you'll need to wait until it's free.

## Cancelling a Swap

If you need to stop partway through, use the cancel command (default: `/cancelengineswap`). This safely returns the vehicle to its normal state and refunds the shop for the swap.
