# Tuner Tablet

The tuner tablet is the all-in-one device tuners carry for managing shop operations, checking vehicle info, and accessing features that don't need a physical marker — including Dyno and NPC Jobs, both covered in full here.

#### Opening the Tablet

Using the tuner tablet item opens the main menu. What's available depends on whether you're currently inside a vehicle — some sections only make sense with a vehicle present (Vehicle Info, Examine Performance, Dyno), while others are always accessible (Billing, NPC Jobs, Mod Orders).

Every section can be individually enabled or disabled server-side, so a given server's tablet might look slightly different depending on which features are active.

#### Vehicle Info

A quick read-only snapshot of whatever vehicle you're currently in — engine health, body health, fuel level, and plate. Useful for a fast diagnostic check without opening any other menu.

#### Examine Performance

Lists every performance mod currently installed on the vehicle — engine, transmission, suspension, armor, brakes, turbo — read-only. A fast way to see what's already been done to a car before quoting a customer or starting new work.

#### Dyno

The dyno lets a tuner fine-tune three core handling values on any vehicle: **torque** (drive force at the wheels), **power** (how fast the engine revs, tied to top speed), and **brakes** (deceleration strength). It's completely free to use — no payment involved.

**View Modifiers** shows the vehicle's current values read-only — either its saved dyno settings if it's been tuned before, or its live native values if it hasn't.

**Fine Tuning** opens sliders for all three values, plus a **Hard Reset** checkbox. Adjusting the sliders and confirming applies those exact values immediately — torque and brakes take effect instantly, and changes persist across sessions. Checking Hard Reset instead ignores the sliders and restores the vehicle to its true stock defaults, calculated fresh for that specific model rather than a generic fallback.

Torque above the default (`1.0`) also feeds into nitrous burst strength — a dyno-tuned vehicle bursts noticeably harder than a stock one at the same efficiency, on top of whatever nitrous itself provides. See the **Nitrous** guide for how burst strength is calculated.

#### Nitrous Status

A read-only summary of the vehicle's current nitrous kit — size, remaining shots, burst threshold, and purge color — if one's installed. For the full purge/burst gameplay loop, installation, and refilling, see the **Nitrous** guide.

#### Mod Orders

Lists every mod order at your shop, pending and in-progress, with refund/abandon options depending on the order's state and your role. Covered in full in the **Mod Orders** guide.

#### NPC Jobs

When there's nothing going on at the shop, NPC jobs give tuners paid work to take on solo. Two job types are available, each with their own shared cooldown so you can't chain them back-to-back endlessly.

**Salvage Car** sends you to a random scrapyard location with a junk car waiting. Every door, the hood, the trunk, and all four wheels can individually be broken off and salvaged — each one requires standing right at that specific part, not just being near the car. Salvaging rewards crafting materials, with a small chance at rare mod items too. Wander too far from the vehicle mid-job and it gets cancelled automatically.

**Mobile Tuning** sends you to a roadside customer who needs a specific cosmetic mod installed — the tablet tells you what type of part to bring (headlights, neon, a bumper, etc.) so you can craft or acquire it before heading out. On arrival, talk to the customer for a quick interaction, then find and use the correct item at the vehicle's install point to fit the part. Once installed, talk to the customer again to collect a cash payment straight to your personal wallet — no formal order or shop involvement needed.

Both jobs use random locations pulled from a shared pool, so two tuners will never be sent to the exact same spot at the same time.

#### Billing

Tuners can create itemized bills for customers directly from the tablet — the customer reviews and confirms before any money changes hands, keeping every transaction transparent and consensual.
